I've been meaning to capture the moments that make motherhood so special and although there are many videos and photos which will account for the first 15 months of Tavish's life there are no journals or scrapbooks. So, this blog will document the tid-bits and tales of the moments that make a mother proud, happy and generally enthused about this ride that is motherhood. This has been created for me but I invite you to read, share and enjoy this collection of moments too.
The day after her birthday, we caught the feisty, funny, and frowny face of this fresh new four year old over some sweet dessert ... and with the phone's selfie function...
Keva turned the BIG 0-4 on a Saturday so we celebrated her in style!

MOMENTS: Love & Jumps
Keva brought some banana and pb 'sandwiches' (with the corner dipped in chocolate!) to share with her friends at Moe's. What better way to spend a day than being surrounded by those who love you? So, a whole cast of Keva fans participated: Caeli, some friends (Parker, Zach, Isable & parents), Grandpa Mike, Auntie Colleen, Alanna, a phone chat with Grandma and Grandpa, and of course, her biggest fans: Mommy, Daddy, and Tavish. There was jumping. There was sushi. There was cake. Happy birthday, Keva!
Turns out, you can have a cook out in the heart of this great city! We got a permit, gathered the crew, and let the kids run free!
MOMENT: Outside Fun in the City
The ravine system in Toronto is a hidden gem and this group of friends uncovered a small section of it. Kids played. Adults Chatted. Dinner. Marshmallows. Sparklers. This is how friends make memories!
We've got some batters swinging and a new skipper in these parts...

Keva Steps Up to Bat
Swingers and Skippers Gotta Sleep!
MOMENT: Swing Batters Don't Skip a Beat
Tavish plays fielder for his bat swining buddy, Charlie. Keva takes a step up to bat. Tavish discovers skipping. It's all so fatiguing yet tiring that Daddy has to haul these swinging skippers off to bed!
Saturday was paddling to the Leslie Spit from Cherry Beach. Sunday was kite flying after a bike ride to the beach. Ahh, the perks of living near Lake Ontario.

MOMENT: Canoe. Kite. Bike.
What more could we ask for? Family togetherness and a canoe, then a bike ride, then flying a kite. Fun family.
On April 24th, Grandma, Auntie Colleen, and Mommy took Tavish and Alana off to the Young People's Theatre to enjoy a performance of the Wizard of Oz. It was wonderful and inspired continued adoration for the story and the characters...
Keva as the Fairy Godmother
Alana as Dorothy
Tavish as the Wizard
MOMENTS: To Oz! To Oz!
It started with the show and ended with show of our own talent 4 months later! Keva along with dedicated painters, Tavish and Alana, pulled together quite the tribute to be displayed in Auntie Colleen's art room. It was a labour of love turned masterpiece unveiled and displayed at the end of August. Each character was a traced family member... Dorothy was Alana; the Wizard was Tavish; Fairy Godmother was Keva; Toto was Caroline; Wicked Witch was Auntie Colleen; and Kerry, Oksana, Tom, and Kath became the rest of the cast! A family tribute to a true classic!
