Tavish Turns 8!

It was a happy birthday-day feast at Stratengers with some pals, followed by a celebration back in the sugarbush a week later. Tavish's syrup-centred birthday is one tradition that has really stuck and as always, has proven to be a memorable and awesome way to celebrate another spin around the sun with our son!

The actual day-of birthday was celebrated at a local restaurant with some pals and pizza, but the BIG celebration was outside in the fresh air frolicking about, except when we were inside enjoying the wonders of pancakes with locally sourced maple syrup!

Hockey Happenings 2016-17

Hockey season, one of the best seasons of the year, according to Tavish. He played with East York again and began the season as #4 playing for the (very dominant) East York Flames. Alas, just like PK Subban, Tavish was traded to the (East York) Preditors. Besides, yellow is a cool colour, so there was that perk to the trade too...

Tavish took a liking playing defence for most of the season. He certainly took his turns and tried his hand at forward, but seemed to prefer keeping back to defend that net. No turn in net for him this year, he was all about wanting to skate, skate, skate!

Vermont v2016

It was an epic year in Vermont this year... first ski lesson for Keva, Tavish skiis in the trees, and snow. So. Much Snow. So much snow we had to stay another night! One thing was consistent with past years, we loved it.

We recently discovered a new book series with Keva called Fancy Nancy. We have her this particular book for our Vermont road trip that read to her once or twice before hitting the road. Then Keva took to 'reading' it herself...
