MOMENTS: All Fingers From One Hand Means FIVE!

We celebrated a little early with a party at Corktown Common with our 'crew' along with Auntie Colleen and Alana. We spent the weekend leading up to her birthday away at a baseball tournament. Her birthday morning saw breakfast with the teammates and siblings at a restaurant and ended it surrounded by family for a feast, gifts, some cupcakes, and love. Happy birthday, Keva.

Hip Hoppers

Both Tavish and Keva excitedly partook in Hip Hop classes throughout the school year. Tavish had become interested in this option through his "movement class" at school and noticing how well his buddy, Cooper, was dancing. Turned out, there were 3 girls in the class as well that he knew well in addition to Cooper. Keva was ready to hip and hop from the get-go.

MOMENT: The Show Goes On

The year end show on May 27th, Keva's last day as a 4 year old, was thrilling and impressive. These two have all the smooth moves out there on the dance floor! Enjoy.

Pancake Sale

Tavish was motivated to make a little money and provide some pancakes for the neighbourhood ... so, his idea for the pancake sale was born.

MOMENT: Pancake Pleaser!

We took the opportunity to turn his idea into a business lesson: made a list of ingredients for purchase, a list of supplies needed, a break down of responsibilities, made a float (for the kid-cash register), and got to work! Everyone had a small hand in helping, but it really was Tavish's project that was a well-attended success. Pancakes for all!

Spring Adventures 2017

All sorts of adventures spring up at this time of year...

Silly Season

Spring Snuggles

Wonderful Waterfall

Preparing to Paddle

Paddling Pros

'Tis the Season

Mommy's Date to Symphony

Grocery Getter
Sunscree Samper

Always Hockey. Always.

MOMENTS: Spring Start the Season

There are so many fun things to do around these parts, certainly busting out the ol' bicycle wheels to get rolling again! Keva is in a transition year, mostly striding on her Strider, but moving on to a few news wheels too. The whole Coady crew are out in full force playing outside whenever the weather permits! Some hiking (to a waterfall, no less!), lots of biking, and a bit of paddling too. Baseball season starts up and the gardens show their readiness to grow. Spring is the perfect season to start adventuring!

Grit

Grit: courage and resolve, strength in character. This is Keva. All setbacks are set aside. She gets it done and rises above. This spring, while Keva and Mommy were waundering back from a baseball practice, we came up with Keva's mantra. There was no intent, it was not planned, it just ... transpired.

I am Keva! I am strong and able, especially when I try!

We see it every day life with Keva. Her positive attitude and jovial nature will take her far in life...

Keva's Lunchroom Skills

While getting Keva ready for bed, we were chatting about life in the lunch room at school.

Keva: "stop that and eat your lunch"!
Me: "Who do they say that to"?
Keva: "usually two boys in my class".

Me: "What do adults say to you during lunch?"
Keva: "...they don't say anything to me because I don't do anything to anyone and eat my lunch".

Aw.

Celebrating Daddy

We took Daddy out for his birthday with Grandpa Mike. The place served the best burgers. The best. Then, we served some dessert at home and sang Daddy a birthday song. Happy birthday, Daddy.
